Cruise Holidays of Kansas City Owners
Inducted into the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Hall of Fame

Mark and Mimi Comfort Recognized for Outstanding Contributions to the Cruise Industry

Kansas City, MO (May 14, 2015) – Mark and Mimi Comfort, owners of Cruise Holidays of Kansas City, were recently honored as two of the newest inductees into the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Hall of Fame. The CLIA Hall of Fame recognizes individuals both past and present, whose efforts and accomplishments represent a significant contribution to the cruise industry. With more than 26 years in the business, the Comforts were honored during the CLIA Cruise3sixty conference in Fort Lauderdale on April 23.

"To receive this recognition from the world’s largest cruise line association is quite an honor to us both, and it’s really hard to put into words how humbled we are," said Mark Comfort. "Both Mimi and I are passionate about the quality of cruise vacations we plan for our clientele and even more passionate about serving others. We create memories. We create dreams and we fulfill those dreams. That’s what we are all about."
Mark and Mimi Comfort opened Cruise Holidays of Kansas City on November 14, 1988, with the goal of being a cruise-only travel agency. From the beginning, their business model was to be marketing led, sales driven and customer service focused. The mission was not to become the largest agency, but to become a role model for the cruise industry in creating memories lasting a lifetime for their clients. "Both Mark and Mimi Comfort exemplify what it means to be truly dedicated individuals and leaders in the travel industry. They have always found opportunity where others only see challenges," said John Lovell, CTC, President of, North America’s largest travel business and marketing solutions provider, which Cruise Holidays is part of. "The dedication they show to their clients and their unwavering entrepreneurial spirit has enabled Mark and Mimi to build one of the top travel agencies in the United States.  Best of all, they freely share their best practices with other Cruise Holidays agency owners. Their induction into the Hall of Fame is extremely well-deserved."

Cruise Holidays of Kansas City has been the top American travel agency in the Cruise Holidays network for 24 years. The Comforts, along with their staff of more than 24 employees, are perennial winners of Cruise Holidays International’s most prestigious awards.  Just last month, they earned Cruise Holidays’ "Top Overall Producer Award," were named to Cruise Holidays’ President’s Circle, and had six members of their team honored with the "Outstanding Sales Achievement" award.
"We are very blessed to have strong leadership on our team," said Mimi Comfort. "For more than two decades, we have been helping plan cruise vacations that have created memories that last a lifetime, and we hope to continue to do so for years to come. It is our goal, our mission, to make sure that we continue to serve our customers, one customer at a time."
